Some Decent Coffee

One for fun, because we’re human after all. The people in this company love what we do. Our hobbies include hacking espresso machines with temperature PID systems, pressure transducers, and tiny computers with printed circuit boards and programmable profiles, to make the most delicious possible extractions. Our data-science guru recently built a gaming controller, that responds to electroencephelography. That's a wireless brain helmet. He "wills" video game maneuvers onto a screen. Yes, we are pretty much inside the future. Our MLOps expert builds robots with AI control systems, in his downtime. These are robotics that walk around by models built from tiny computers, intelligent enough to manage energy, make decisions, and even do useful tasks. Some of us have automated drip irrigation in our home gardens, to experiment with sustainable living systems, like we do in some of our agtech projects. One of the more precocious individuals on the team (here, we will not name names) runs a farnsworth fusor out of his garage. Yes, nuclear fusion. The kind the sun does. A recent invention shared on our Slack channel includes the world’s most absurd incense lighter, using a raspberry pi to focus record breaking laser power (8W from a single semiconductor diode) onto the incense stick, remotely. Is it really just so you can light incense from a button your phone? Of course not. It's not more convenient if you first need to put on the wildly thick high optical density goggles and kick all living things out of the room. Safety first. We do it, because we like emergent technology. A lot. It’s because we enjoy understanding this beautiful world of ours, we enjoy interacting with it in ways that feel like art. So when we work on things, rest assured, money is only a part of it. And yes, the coffee is really very delicious.
